welcome to the second installment of
Things Lauren Hates
*check here for numero uno*
I let the 'Things Lauren Hates' go because someone told me maybe i should at least act like im happy. but i must add to the list because im not just unhappy. im not just mad. im pissed. let me tell you why.
Once upon a time about two and a half months ago i walked my little self into OfficeMax and bought myself an Acer Aspire 5920. oh how i loved the smooth outside and the bright inside. perfect for movie watching and game playing and paper writing and even blogging!
and then one day it started doing this weird thing. the screen would flash on and off and bounce all around. weird indeed! i didnt send it in right away cause i was hoping it would fix itself and i needed it to start school. school started and it was driving me more and more crazy. i had thought of sending it in but then things happened. so i waited. but it became unberable. so i called up the (not so) friendly Acer people for help. the first man was very nice and said that since we couldnt get a certain driver to work we were going to have to reformat the hard drive. bummer i know. so i saved all my crap, i mean school work, and called back to a really cranky Acer man that told me how to reformat the nice machine. and then the man hung up on me. but it was ok because it worked! and there was much rejoicing in the land!
you know what happened a few days later? it started all over again! BOOOOOOOO! but this time it was even worse than before (i know, you ask how is that even possible? to that question i have no answer) i was a very very angry emotional girl. so i sent it home to my father to have the computer man look at it. the verdict was to send it to Acer to have it fixed. so i (and by i i mean my dad) sent it away to freaking Temple, Texas. and there was sadness in the land that my baby that i had worked so hard to get was no longer with me.
but lo, i recieved an email saying that they were seding it back. i checked the tracking everyday (more like every few hours) for 6 days making sure it was headed in the right direction.
and this is where the story continues! are you excited?! you should be.
i recieve a text from my froommate yesterday saying 'guess whats here?!?!' and there was even more rejoicing.
until i opened the box
the paper on top said 'could not duplicate malfunction'. what the deuce does that even mean? oh it turns out that it miraculously healed itself on the way to Texas and now they think im a big liar. which sometimes i do lie, but i did not lie to the the great (sucky) company of Acer
I HAVE WITNESSES PEOPLE! WITNESSES!
oh but it goes on. i thought to my self 'self, why dont you check to see if it really is fixed' so i opened my pretty little notebook up and you guessed it, the battery was dead. no worries though, right? just plug it in! WRONG! they didnt find it freaking necessary to send back the power cord or AC adaper or whatever the heck its called.
i made calls. boy did i make calls. i talked to one lady who wouldnt let me get a damn word out and told me i had to call back tomorow cause she couldnt help me and blah blah blah and when i asked to speak to a manager (i worked in a call center folks, i know there are managers/supervisors around ALL THE TIME) she said i would just have to call back tomorow cause she couldnt help me. i didnt want her dang help. i wanted the help of the manager. i wanted to make a complaint to the manager.
and thus i was all emotional again.
so i called this morning. and the man named Keith was very nice and said one power/ac adapter would be on my door step in 3-5 days. i wanted to tell him i wanted one now! but i didnt, cause im too nice. and then i asked to be transfered to the manager so i could make my complaint!
and i was tranfered. and you know what the man told me when i asked him what he was going to do to make my problem right. i'll tell you. the Acer man said 'we dont deal with the general public, therefore we cant help you with that'
HELLO?!?! when did i become an ex member of the general public? thats my question.
the conclusion to this story is that i am very angry. and i hate the freaking Acer people in Texas. they can all go... go... go sit on a tack or something.

I am so sorry. Let's hope it has miraculously healed itself AND your power cord shows up soon. Love ya. -Me
working for a gas company based out of texas made my strong dislike for texans grow to a legetimate predjudice against the texan race. remind me to tell you a story later about the sheriff. i fully understand your frusterations. :)
