{crown me}

which of these it not like the others?

want to hear the story of how i nearly punched the dentist right in the throat?
oh you do? then i will tell you. wait, you want a blow by blow of it? alright!

I went back to the dentist yesterday to get the true biz crown on my poor tooth. It may have been the most painful dental encounter I have ever experienced, and thats saying something my friends. I asked the dental assistant if it was going to hurt and she said no. Then she retracted her statement with the question of whether I have had a root canal on that tooth, which I have not. She said it might hurt but probably not too bad (LIES!). I sat in the chair for like an hour (not really) waiting for the handsome dentist to come do his dirty work. He finally came and carefully popped the fake yucko tasting crown off, and then is when the pain started. you see, last week he drilled it down to just a little stubby with no protection from the elements. he then proceded to gently scrape all the old cement off the little stubby tooth. at this point i about threw in the towel and gouged my eyes out, just to take the stubby tooth pain away. but alas, i held stong (i must give props to dr w for being at least kind of gentle with my poor little mouth). then, being the nice man he is, he dried it off with a little cottonie thing instead of blowing air on it, which i was very grateful for. next up was making sure the real crown fit right. he stuck it on the stub and it instantly felt better, i didnt want him to take it off again. but he did. he put the cement on and stuck it back down in which hurt for a mere moment in time and then felt better again. i thought i was good to go, but then he made the assistant clean up the extra cement in my mouth. she went about doing such things, but couldnt seem to get the floss down between the real teeth and the new one. however, i knew it should work because the dentist tried flossing before the cement was put in place. after much struggle she got it. and it hurt. it hurt bad. it wasnt just my gums (which are very sore after a week of painful fake dental appliances) but the tooth, and the pain shot down into my jaw. gross. the little gal went to get the dr to take a lookie, which he did. he looked around and flossed a in there a little when he proclaimed "maybe its the back tooth!".

and that is when i had to restrain myself from punching him right in the neck.

was i going to let him fix his mistake and make another little stubby tooth?
can i get an "oh, heck no!"
thank you.

but it turns out its a good thing i restrained myself because he then reminded me of the itty bity filling he put in last week. he said its probably just getting a little irritated and that things should be looking up for me and my mouth.

so far so good.

cross your fingers a root canal isnt next on the menu
