anywayzzle, the festivites started by eating a bunch of these on friday night. and then more on saturday.
they were made by one soon to be famous Kim. she is so rad. no only do i wish i could decorate cupcakes like her but i totally covet her dance moves. seriously. and she has great hair.so on saturday my parentals were supposed to come down and spend the day with me. but then they didnt. something about snow and driving and not wanting to die or something. to say the least, i was pretty dang sad. i laid in bed most of the morning reading a book and watching Greys. speaking of which, what is with this no proposal? they left me hanging last week and thats all we get? worms in someones brain but no bling bling? i was highly disappointed. however the end did make me a little twitterpated. after a bout with Greys and a little pitty party i went shopping to get myself something nice. you need something nice every now and again, ya know? there arent to many places to shop in this little town of ours but i found what i needed.
pink and sparkles all wrapped into one:

you should see me when i go out in the sun. woah. i also made a a few other purchases. none of which were as important of satisfying as the sequin shirt.
on my way to the store that sells sequin convered shirts i got a mysterious phone call. it went something like this:
me: "hello?"
him: "hi! is this Lauren?"
me: slightly concerenced "yes"
him: "hi! this is D*, do you know who i am?"
me: "yes, i think so" (i had heard the name, never met the man)
him: "yeah, i worked for your mom. anyway i was wondering what you were doing this fine vanlentines day"
me: "nothing, just hanging out witht the roommates"
him: "well i was calling to invite you over for some pizza with me and my wife and some friends"
me: "ok...?"
him: "so, do you want to come"
me: "ummm, yeah. sounds like fun"
and from there the plans were made. i was slightly worried because i thought he meant him and his wife. and their friends. like married people. i called my mom to confirm that this wasnt some psycho trying to lure me into the woods to kill me. she said to go, it could be fun. so i went. but only after getting totally and completely lost. but then i found my way. to my great relief D* and his wife were kind of old with a bunch of teenage kids. and the friends they were talking about? the kids friends. great, i know. they were babysitting a totally precious little boy that warmed up to me right away and sat on my lap and played for a long time. it could possibly have something to do with the fact that i was feeding him candy. but i dont know, just a hunch. we had a little pizza and talked for a while before i had to go to get back to the roommate festivities. i was glad that they invited me, it was a nice time.
when i got back to my place of residency we went to a little party that turned out to be a little lame. we went shopping instead. and when we got home you know what was waiting for us? veggie delight. and shirly temples. and Nights in Rodanthe which turned out to be a total bust. i wont ruin it for you but lets just say its lame to the mizzax. freak. i had such high expectations.
then the sabath day came. it was filled with a nuch of joyful gospel lessons and such. after church, a fireside, and ward prayer we had a little game night. we played one round of ERS which was a little anticlimatic and then one round of BS which was slightly more fun, but only kind of. during all of this our sink was being mostly special so we called Jake. Jake is the man. Jake fixed our sink. and while he was here we asked him if he could take a look at our bathroom sink as well.

its too bad you cant see his face in this picture cause he's totally cute. anyway, he was upstairs for a while and i got a little nervous. i went up to see what he was doing but all i could see were his feet stiking out from under the sink. he was doing his job alright. i asked him if it was pretty nasty and his reply was "yeah, it was sick. hair. lots of it. reminded me of the grudge." i dont know what that meant but it was grossing me out just thinking about it so i left it at that.
and do you know how the night ended? with a sleepover. a sleepover with one sarah fred. sarah beth fred to be more exact.
it was such a joyour shmalentines weekend.
oh wait, but the story continues. this morning i got a call from my mom. she enquired as to what i was doing and i told her i was sleeping. then she asked if i could be ready in a half hour. ready for what? to see her of course! she came all the way down to hang out with me for a couple hours and i loved every single minute of it. we went shopping and to lunch and all sorts of crazy fun things. we even bought shoes. and then she left, and i cried a little bit. i dont like it when she leaves, it makes my heart hurt. but now im very very excited for next time. which should be very soon. coughhintcough
how was your shmalentines?

Hey, are you just going around to get as many cool hand made stuff?? Aren't you getting something from Jamie too? Does that mean you have to do it for 10 people?! HA! Our Valentines was fun. We went to Fayette, UT for a baptism that happened in the river. Yes it was freezing! Then we came home and went to a murder mystery dinner party. It was probably the funnest Valentines Day I've had in many a year.
I Want your shirt! That is so cute!
I'm so happy your mom came! What a perfect way to end the weekend
