this man is a basically a god of sorts around these parts (not actually this man, but one like him).
why? because in our little off the beaten path middle of nowhere town in our fine little apartment complex full of hundreds of girls (and a bunch of premies and some lame rm's), its the only way to communicate with the outer world, our your missionary. whichever way you want to think about it. i love checking the mail. infact from the hours of 3 until 5 i sit and wait for the mail man to come. (because someday that letter i have been waiting for for way too long will come.)
once the mail man has come and gone its like a magnetic pull to the row of mail boxes.
today i went to the mail box as the mail man left and opened it up to a load of mail (or course none of it was for me). and in the process of doing so i noticed that the mail box that was opened above mine had a letter in it with a return address starting with Elder. i proceded to proclaim "oh look, some one got some missionary mail! lucky girl!" and then chimed in 4 or 5 other people "so did i!" and "oh, shes going to be so happy" and then (screaming to a roommate) "it came! it came! you got the letter!" and then we had to hear about how so and so got a tape from her missionary yesterday. and then someone else got a letter on monday and blah blah blah. seriously. i nearly cried.

why? because no matter how many letters i send across the ocean or how many packages i fork out $50 to send, i never get anything back. ever.
the letter i sent two weeks ago, thats the last one. seriously this time.

I watched for the mail everyday while my friends were on their missions! I hope you get a letter soon!
once he gets back, you can chew him out. that sucks bigtime Lauren. No letter at all from him?!
I think we should get Hottie Soldier Pen Pals who will return from Iraq as National heroes and come sweep us off our feet...yes?
Did your mail from me come today? Sorry to have added to your dissapointment, I mailed them all at the same time. Yours was my fav so that devil of a mailman better make sure it makes it to you safe and sound.
I think he loves you. So he won't send mail to you because it would distract him from his work. He will come home and sweep you off your feet I just know it.
If it makes you feel any better, I sent out about 15 missionary letters this past summer and have only received two short responses. Oh well, it's the thought that counts right?
Those girls make me want to throw myself in front of a moving van. But when your letter comes, promise me you'll scream across the parking lot to me?
