and if you could see the shoe collection i have you would understand...
today while we were shoe shopping i had a total flash back of my past 5 years of shoe buying
while thinking back i came to the realization that i go through serious shoe phases
i'll enlighten you on such things

during the middle of my high school years i did the hard core skater shoe:
i wore some ugly shoes back in the day. like way ugly. i mean, i have a ton of weird shoes now, but the things i wore on my feet back then were ugly ugly. however, there are two pairs i still have. they are very comfy and easy and non squishy when my toes are tired of being squished.the next phase started just out of high school and lasted most of the way through my freshman year of college. it was the slip on phase:
this is where we really should start talking about ugly shoes. i had the green corderoy, camo, skull, random color, everything you can dream of slip on. even the classic black and white checks. they were pretty rad. i still have them all somewhere, i just dont really wear them a whole lot because they dont match anything. and they arent that comfy.during the slip on phase i also took a dip into the shallow end of the converse pool:
i have pink (see above) and silver. not grey, silver. it's my life goal to acquire a pair of every color made. in case you dont know, thats a whole lot. today while we were shopping a saw a pair that reminded me of a grey and black pair megan and i saw once in park city back in the day. i really really wanted them but decided that i didnt need them so i walked out of that store and never looked back. to this day those shoes still haunt me. i think about them probably once a week but cant find the same pair anywhere. its tragic.towards the end of the slip on/converse phase i did the heel thing:
it was more about the wedges than the true biz heel for me. i bought and bought and bought wedges for like 6 months straight. that adds up to a whole lot of wedges. i dont know why i bought them all the time because i generally only wear heels on the sabath day. i think they were a good investment, except when i cant find anything to wear on sunday morning because i cant decide what shoes to wear.somewhere in the mix between the converse and wedge phase i did a stint with the cowgirl boots:

the boot phase didnt last too long and i got out of it with only one pair. one pair that i love so much that when the heel broke i (read: my dad) paid big bucks to get them fixed so i could keep on struttin' my stuff. i even dedicated a post to them back in the day. i would link it but im too lazy. take my word for it that it was a pretty killer post.
the last few years have been dedicated to the flat:
the last few years have been dedicated to the flat:
flats are hearty shoes. they are good for everything, and i do mean everything. i especially love my hot pink with a flower on the toe flats, they are ever so cute. i also like the lose weaved white leather flats my mom bought me in san jorge during one of the many many shopping trips we have had (and im sure there will be more). when i graduated in may i got a new pair of gold flats to wear with my pretty red dress. and then there are the standard black flats that every girl should own. they are just too fab not to.the newest phase is that of the athletic shoe variety
i have only recently (read: last month or so) taken up wearing the athletic type shoe on a regular basis. i think they are fab. they are just so comfy and offer the perfect amount of style and support without going overboard. since this newest phase has just started i dont have too many pairs of nikes. if you wanted to get me some i would not decline you that privlege (i REALLY want a pair of pumas, so go ahead and get me those ones). you can betcher bottom that i'll have more soon enough, because one cannot live with just a few pairs of their favorite type of shoe.my favorite shoe will always and forever be the Chaco:
i would go into detail about why i love these bad boys but it would take much too long. lets just say that im working on making toe covers so that i can wear my chacos in the winter. they are that fabulous. oh i love them so much. i cant wait until it gets warm enough to wear my beloved chacos once again.so, whats your favorite type of shoes?
