it really is so much of a joy that i thought i would share with you what i have been doing.
here is a recap of today, in order of the actual events
-first, i got up much to early, like 8:45 or something.
-i sat on the couch and tried to watch Birth Day but i was SO tired
-then i went back to bed (aka, nap numero uno)
-i woke up again because the phone was ringing but i ignored it and went back to sleep
-but the phone kept ringing (side note: i know there is someone of importance that lives in this house that some people feel the need to talk to ALL. THE. TIME. but honestly, if the phone doesnt get answered the fist time its probably not going to get answered 5 mintues later. especially in the middle of the day while said important person is brining home the bacon, or something like that.)so i got up and answered it. im not sure who it was or what they wantd because of my state of tiredness but i wrote down the number they spouted off much too fast and forgot all about it.
-i remembered i was hungry so i had some cap'n crunch
-then i went back to bed (aka, nap numero dos)
-i got up to go potty and decided it was probably a good time to get up for the day
-i sat in the chair and watched mindless tv for a little bit and remembered i was hungry again.
-more cap'n crunch and some bbq chips were on the menu for lunch
-my mind kicked into gear and i remembered the someone calling for the person of importance so i got online and sent the important person an IM with the number.
-a shower was then had
-and then i remembered i hadnt watched last weeks Grey's yet so i watched it
-facebook used its force over me so i checked it again for the 112th time today.
-then some blog stalking needed to take place.
-and then i realized how pathetic my life is so in order to cheer my poor self up i did the best thing i could think of besides getting drunk because 1. i dont do that and 2. even if i did there is no one to do it with. youtube. its a heavenly thing.

Friday was a day used for shopping and naps. and more shopping. and food.... mmmmm food!
Saturday was a day for serious shopping. it put Fridays shopping to shame. Tate bought me some rad pink gogs and some new swim attire. and Mag bought me some clothes. and then we had In N Out. i love In N Out, i try not to eat there too much because people die when i do (no, seriously) but everyones life was spared on Saturday.
then on the Holy Day we drove ourselfs out to the middle of nowhere to look at rocks. i have compiled a picture essay for your viewing pleasure:

there was a sign while we were driving that said TUNNELS AHEAD! and i got so so excited because i love tunnels. but then i saw the "tunnels". dont you worry, we honked all the way through it.
then we went to this place you might have heard of called Bryce Canyon. its kind of off the beaten bath so i'll understand if you've never in your life heard of such a place. not. anywho, it was quite chilly

but not chilly enough to keep us from snapping some fotos. here we are. arent we just cute as can be?

this is Katherine and Meg. they are my best friends, even when they are terribly mean to me. they provided me with m&m's and Dorritos for the long car ride.

while we were there we contimplated the rocks and had seriously deep conversations. waoh.

Then Meeegan and i had a contest to see who could throw a snowball onto a very small rock. dont worry, i totally let her win.

but then she got tired from all the throwing so i had to give her a piggy back all the way back to the car. boy o boy am i one tuff cookie!

THE END!
we're totally going national park hopping this summer if you want to come.

{oh the weather outside is frightful}
or on this:
which i did quite a bit of yesterday. it was a safe experience until Katie joined me on the back. let it be known that Katherine and I should probably not be allowed on 4wheelers together. we got ourselfs in a very comprimising situation with a giant mound of snow. slowly the 4wheeler started to tip to one side and i started saying bad words and Katie started laughing and it kept slowly falline one direction and i was having flashbacks of the last time this happened. but then the educated side of me thought that tipping over a 4wheeler into a snowdrift while its not moving probably wouldnt be as painful as flipping one over going 30mph in dirt. but then it kept going and i was getting more and more nervous and then (this is where it gets good) the angels from on high swooped down and saved us. and we stayed upright. and we didnt die. thankfully.

{gingerbread fun}
check for yourself:

Thanks to Rachel for providing loads of joy and joyness in the form of a gingerbread house. and speaking of joy and joyness, check this. just for kicks of course.

{home, home on the range}
1. i am glad thanksgiving is over so i can stop pretending to be grateful for things im not. however, my comment at thanksgiving dinner about being grateful for Guys Big Bite still stands. as does Rachael Ray. (dont think im not grateful for stuff, just currently not everything)
2. i held a baby today and it did not cure my baby hunger. it only made it worse. i need one.
3. my pal Chris is going on a mission to Taiwan and he spoke in church today. it was lovely. he is lovely. i would venture to say that he is as handsome of a little devil as his brother who i will always and forever be in love with.
4. i saw a kid at church today that i havent seen in years. we kind of grew up together and i always thought he was awkward and weird (which i am not. heh) but now he is TOTALLY cute and all grown up. he turned aroudn and smiled at me and i got so flustered that right in the middle of the meeting i said (out loud) "hey, how are you?" oh heavens. he just kept smiling (now who's the weird awkward one?) i really wanted to talk to him after the meeting was over but right as amen was said he jumped up and left. seriously?
5. im leaving now. please cross your fingers that it doesnt start to snow until i am safe and sound in my little apartment. i love the snow but dont like driving in it. it scares me.
tootaloo friends. have a fabulous sabath
(i also noticed i spelled coffin wrong every time i said it in the last post. im really not that stupid. honestly. please forgive my mistake)
Later: i made all in one piece. tragically the roommates werent even here to greet me. one of them is supposed to send out the search parties if i didnt make it back by 6:30. how is she going to know whether or not to do so if she's not even here?

{and the skies are not cloudy all day}
instead the day held a baby shower for our cousin, a trip to the cemetary, lunch, and a trip to Ikea.
the baby shower was very fun. its always nice to see the fam we dont get to see very often. although i was dubbed a bad cousin for missing my other cousins baby blessing like a year ago. seriously. all in good fun, right? i hope so. this baby is going to be born January 14th at 4:26am, weighing in at 8lbs 6oz and a long 22". at least thats my guess. i hope there are prizes for the winner :)
when we got to the cemetary there was a service being held just a down the hill from grandmas view. i wanted to see how the got the caskets in the grave so we stuck around to watch. after all the mourners there were gone the vault guy came and did something to the platform the casket was sitting on and started to take the chair covers off. i looked over at katie to tell her something and looked back and the casket was gone. we totally missed it! i guess the green thing they sit on just lowers it down on it. the only other time i have seen a cofin be lowered into the ground was at my grandpas funeral when i was a wee thing. i remember we were all standing around watching when they rigged it up with ropes and started lowering it in the grave. then nate and a man in a UPS uniform jumped down in to make sure to got in safely. im still not sure how two men and a cofin all fit in one grave but they did. nate and the UPS man got out and then we were supposed to sprinkle dirt. my little cousin picked up a rock and chucked it in. it hit the cofin and bounced off and my uncle said "take that grandpa". it was funny. anyway, back to the origional story. so the straps just lowered it in while the guy was taking the chair covers off. im not sure how they get the straps out from under the casket but they do somehow. its very interesting. i stood around for a little while longer while everyone else waited in the car (they dont like going there. i do). we left a wreathe made of branches off grandmas tree. it was nice. next time im taking some compressed air so i can do a better job cleaning it off. seriously.
after a jont through the valley we went to megans where she had two presents waiting for me. one was a ring with my name carved in it, just incase i forget what it is someday. i think its very cool. im wearing it right as we speak. she also gave me another present but i cant disclose what it it. i'll post a picture of it later. its awesome. then my mom took us to lunch, which was just as delicious as ever. at ikea i got a presant for a roommate. i would tell you what that is too but she's probably reading it right now. alas, you'll have to wait on that one too.
and do you want to know what happened next? this:

i went to dinner with my good friends Katie and Kara. These girls are a riot! we had way way too much fun! Katie got free icecream, that i ate all of, because she told the waiter (hot) we were celebrating her birthday... in september. haha. we had a serious gossip session and just laughed and laughed and told stories and laughed some more. it was so fun and i cant wait to play with them again! oh christmas break cant come fast enough!
its been just a stupendous break of thanks and im sad about having to leave tomorow. just two more weeks and we'll be back for more fun!

{where seldom is hear a discouraging word}
if you know the J* family you know that holidays usually turn out no bueno. considering our current emotional state and lack of family members who choose to spend the holidays in heaven, i was expecting a less than pleasant experience. i should never under estimate my family. they are fab. there were very minimal emotional outbursts (to be expected). we just cried that we lost a family member (and our favorite son/niece/sis-in-law are across the country) and fought about what pie we were going to eat first.
i woke up exceptionally late and made an apple pie. my poor little hands have little rolling pin blisters. however i would venture to say it was well worth it. joanna came over for dinner(lunch) and brought green bean casarol and a yumm delicious cranberry apple orange relish. it was way good. we also had (courtesy of my mother) turkey, stuffing, jello salad, potatos, and my rolls (low fat and fatfull varities) which didnt turn out as well as i had hoped. after lunch we sat around and talked about the thanksgivings joanna has spent with us (four) and other stuff like that. then we had pie. mmmmmm. i love pie. we had punkie, apple, and my secret surprise key lime. it was delicious. and low fat. im drooling just thinking about it. it was good to the max. naps followed and then movies and games after that. we played skip-bo and got into a heated political discussion that ended peacefully. what a splendid day it was.
just splendid indeed.
(we finised The Visitor. lame. it seriously had a lot of potential until about the last 10 minutes. i wouldnt recoment watching it. ever. consider yourself warned.)

{where the deer and the antelope play}
this morning i got up right as my sister was going back to bed. it was a tragedy because i wanted to play with her but she apparently did not have the same ideas. all was well in our household though because then i went to see my daddy and he took me to fix my car and then to lunch. actually, he didnt take me to lunch. he handed me a twenty and told me to bring him something. so i did. costa vida was my place of eating desires. i got a chicken salad (as always) and picked out a smoothered beef burrito for the father. back at his place of business we sat at his office and ate our delicious foods. yumm o! i love costa vida. it was a good time spending some one on one time (+the guy that works for him) with my father.
do you want to know what i did after my lunch date? i baked.
rolls and pies for tomorows festivities.
there is just something thrilling about rolling out a pie crust to be filled with yummy things. aaaaand i think the smell of yeast is just divine. therefore it was a fantabulous baking experience. (please note that my mom is now picking rolls off the pan and eating them. save some for tomorow, would ya?) i made three pie crusts this evening and my mom filled one with homemade punkie pie filling. half way through the baking she remembered she forgot to put sugar in the mix. heh. it was funnyish. never fear, it was added later. now i have two empty pie crusts waiting to be filled. what shall i add? tomorow you shall see, its a surprise. a very very tastey surprise. are you jealous that you wont be here for that? you probably should be.
anywho, then my mom took us children (meeeeegs and i) grocery shopping. the other sister didnt want to come. lame. it was a nice little trip to walmart. note that me madre is the queen of ad-matching. no, seriously. she also bought me onion blossom flavored pringles. cross those of my list of things to buy again. they are ok, just not re-buy worthy.
have you seen "the visitor"? we started watching it last night. so far its pretty decent. im going to finish it now. i'll let you know how it goes, not that all 3 of you care. especially since one of you is watching it with me. heh.
this break is turning out to be just loverly. word?

{where the buffalo roam}
but only after i took a test, packed my belongings, went to a nutrition class, and sat around discussing who was going to make bread for next week (not me, i cant get bread to rise (rolls are a different story)). let it be known that i left an hour late because of said bread discussion.
i stopped to get a drink (read: sonic happy hour) and then was on my way. i got about 15 miles up the road when i remembered a cookbook my mom wanted me to bring home. i turned around, got the book and started my little journey once again. because of the 32oz of diet coke i promptley consumed, i had to urinate by parawon. i know. seriously. i held it until Beaver when i could hold it no more. then i had to stop in fillmore to get something to eat (and go potty again). cheese bread with loads of banana peppers hit the S.P.O.T.! by now it was dark, as in really dark. so i turned up the music and jaaaaaammed the rest of the way home. it was pretty rad.
when i got home i burst through the door and got a less than exciting welcome. but then my dad took us out for icecream which was fun. after the icecream i went to my neighbors to see if i could hold their little kiddos (i love them) but they werent there. it was tragic, but then guess what happened.. my bff came over and we hung out for a while. it was muay fun. but by 9:45 i was all tuckered out so i went to bed. and then i didnt get up until 10:00 (no judging)
since then i have done nothing but hang out with my fam and talk to meeeeeeeegan on the phone cause shes not home yet (hurry it up sister). and now im all alone watching a show about the brain on the history channel. which makes me want to do something CA-RA-ZEE!
Want to go base jumping?
*stay tuned for more break of thanks updates*
